It suits the simplicity of the song. I wonder if the album cover will be the same because in contrast to Japan, the font style and album artwork in America are usually very similar between the album and its singles (due to singles being released after the album’s completion).

I like the font. The word that comes to mind is “retro”. But it is kind of pixellated. Also, singles are not big to-dos as they are in Japan — they tend to be much simpler and different than anything found in the actual album art. Just look at Easy Breezy. YMMWTBAM was related to the video, and Devil Inside was formed off the promo pic. But I forgot Hikki/a lot of j-pop fans were some of the biggest complainers ever (IMHO).

I love the photo. And did anyone else notice that they worked those arrows into her hood? Come on, they’re not being lazy, that’s good.
And non_sequitur is absolutely right: single art is rarely as good as the album art – just look at P!nk’s single, “So What,” as compared to the album, “Funhouse.” And these days, most people use the same art and just change the name on the front.
These people have been in the business a TEENSY bit longer than you all have.

And for those who’re saying the letters look “pixelated”, that’s because of the MySpace fail re-size. If you go to her Pic Album you’ll see the original size picture, without any pixelated stuff. And even then, it sucks.

The font (outlining text is a major no-no), the text placement, the size, etc. Even I could do a better job. I can’t complain too much though, I really like the photo and the thought of just having a single is great.

Hikki looks a bit sad a bit angry and a bit happy.
THIS IS MY FAVORITE SINGLE COVER OF HERbut, arial or times new roman would suit the photo and the song better.
Then I noticed that the font they use it right now is related to her hoody!
that font + arrow pattern on her hoody = the thing that hollywood use for taking a shoot in a film (dunno what the name is). Ahahaha…

I actually didn’t notice the bad font until after I read the comments here (I was too enraptured by her beauty), but I do agree. Whatever, she looks great.

Thus I’m satisfied. Although, she could have smiled. The whole expressionless thing that artists do is getting old.
I’m also happy that this Single actually got a Single Cover, regardless of whether it will be released in Physical Form or not. I guess they at least needed a picture or iTunes though so they had no choice.

Having kept up with her recent hairstyles, I was worried about her brown-dyed short hair. It definitely looked more Asian than the Western audience would be accustomed to. But it turned out nice. At least she wore a hood which covered most of her hair and whatever hairstyle she had.

Hikaru just proves quality over quantity.

@ Alex0821, ive seen pink’s SO WHAT cover and even it’s simple, it looks good. it doesn’t have lining and they used gradient for the whole caption.
HOWEVER, i really REALLY like Hikki’s picture! even thhough it doesnt have much color, it has life.. i really like it!
BTW, i’m starting to let all my friends listen to “COME BACK TO ME” here in the philippines.. haha! i know it’ll be big here..

And there’s not even a question in my mind as to whether this is the ALBUM Cover or not. Of course it’s not. And as of now there’s no reason to believe that the Album will be titled “Come Back To Me” either. Stop scaring yourselves with these irrational fears.
Utada has a thing for HeadShots. It’s kind of her thing. If she wants to continue with that I don’t mind. Although she has broken the pattern with recent singles so maybe she could have kept with that. This is America afterall so she could have left that for her Japanese Releases. I like them though.

Also, I don’t think her nose is broken, it looks exactly the same as it always has!!!
Can’t wait for an album release,but following hikki’s blog update I’m not expecting it for March any more…
