New English Message from Utada

Message from Utada, Utada Hikaru (JPN)

Utada has updated her blog with a new English message. Sounds like she is still finishing up the album, and even questions the March 24th release date, saying she believes that it won’t be finished in time.

Someone posted a tracklist on a forum but it’s all speculation at the moment and it is probably fake.

    ^NiCe list you got there…
    interesting… =D

  8. InnerRise says:

Yeah, I saw the same list a while back, only “Simple & Clean” and “Sanctuary” were on there as well. Haven’t given it a second though. Meh.

Anyways, Utada made me laugh in her English message how right off the bat she says her album probably won’t be out as soon as IDJ says it will and then laughs about it. As if she finds humor in our misery.

  9. non_sequitur says:

You’re right (or at least as far as I can tell), Ghostdog. That tracklist is kind of pathetic — even by fake tracklist standards. Someone on hikaru.sc did a search at BMI and managed to pick one of the hundreds of songs titled “Come Back To Me”, clicked on one of the three credited songwriters that sounded vaguely Scandinavian (since people generally thought it sounded like yet another Stargate production) and randomly picked some ballad-sounding songs. It insults all respectable speculated/fake tracklists everywhere. :P

Only Deep River and some extra stuff (like 3 tracks from FL) is listed at BMI. Apples and Cinnamon (and all of Exodus, UB, and HS) is at ASCAP.

  10. ^I hope she takes all the time she needs, if its going to be that great (as if I ever doubted it would be anyway!)…There’s no misery in that, if the single ends up taking off, she’ll probably just tack something on in desperation just to called it “finished up”, I know its probably alot more difficult to create the music versus the lyrics w/ the new market expectations and such! Doesn’t matter what route she takes, I’ll STILL be getting both the English and Japanese versions, and any Itunes USA versions that may and likely will become available, just to show how much I want to see this project take Utada’s career to tru new heights! Her English message are adorable and insightful as always, and I hope she WILL finish the record sooner than later if its then in her schedule to post Myspace Blogs and more of these…

  11. ^That sounds like a pretty awesome tracklist right there, well, I guess, depending on what the Title and Album Artwork is conformed to be…I REALLY hope she does include Simple and Clean & Sanctuary in SOME way (w/ new vocals or some mixed instruments, like POL-Quiet Version-,FOL (Antidote Mix), and Eternally-Drama Mix), if she released them as official singles, I know they’d both be across the board smash hits given that’s how the vast majority of her international fans learned about her anyway…

  12. Ghostdog says:

Ughh, your right. I just did a little research and the person who made this list basically took random songs from Amund Bjorkland’s Espen Lind’s (Stargate) song catalogs on BMI and threw the list together.
    Lame, sorry. :(

  13. ruka27 says:

    ^really? well, that sucks…

  14. Ghostdog says:

Well I would hope that it’s not real since if it was true it would mean that Stargate produced the whole album and I seriously doubt that.

  15. non_sequitur says:

^The thing is, they are loosely associated with Stargate… They came up with the chord progression for Beyonce’s “Irreplaceable (and Stargate offered their hand claps). Stargate is Tor Erik Hermansen and Mikkel S. Eriksen.

  16. claza says:

Oh Shiz. If she did an English version of Prisoner of Love.
    I’ll have an eargasm.

  17. Xcapist says:

Ew POL in English? I hope not, I’m not a fan of this song. But the original will always sound better.

  18. ShinjiPG says:

Great english post :) She sounds more mature talking in english (but that’s been told already). In Japan most women have to keep looking silly and cute. That’s one of the main reasons for the difference in sound, between the japanese and international career.

  19. itaikoon says:

her new album will be great i can just c her soaring to new heights right now!lol..no matter how long she takes on her new album i bet it will get great reviews from critics because of all the hard work and effort she’s putting into it!THANX 4 THE ENGLISH UPDATE UTADA!

  20. InnerRise says:

Even in Japan Utada still uses her lower pitch when speaking. I like that.

  21. Nao says:

POL was written in English first wasn’t it?

This albums gonna be amazing. I hope it’s out in time for my holiday to Tunisia so I can listen to it on the beach :D :D :D
