    so sad ….

Oh ok. Well I hope this is the last song they release. Leave something brand new out of the 5….well now 3 songs that are left ya know.

But I mean….if it’s a part of the official promotion, then I’ll participate and treat it like a Single and listen to it in full just once. To support their efforts of course. ( ”)

As for the song itself…..it’s nice in a quaint way. More in line with where she needs to be and where I was hoping and expected her to be. Covers are what Pepsi-Nex does so “Hymne a l’a what” didn’t scare me, the unique song that it is.

“Goodbye Happiness” has a playful, yet simultaneously ominous tone/sound to it. And the “Ah”’s just ooze this “I Told You So” feel, which I can’t place. Like she’s saying, “I knew this is where we would end up. Where have you been? I tried to tell you,” smiling with her hand extended towards you as she says it, ready to take you the last few steps of the way.

It’s dark and there’s wind all around flustering her clothing and tosseling her hair, coming from some unseeable source. There’s a lot going on ahead where she is about to take you. You’re scared, excited, unbridled in your……okay that’s enough. It’s a good song. Okay?

^And that’s all we ask or need; Its a great song, perhaps her best since HEART STATION!

  5. jessipooh says:

the pink bunny/pig puppet better actually be her costar. lol.

Here’s a link to the radio rip: http://www.manjoe-chan.com/gbhextendedpreview.m4a

It’s right over the given youtube video. What do you guys think of the full thing? (it might be too soft, so make your volume louder)

  7. JayUtada says:

Sorry for the double post, but that is NOT the full thing. Only a section of it. The full song is confirmed to be 5 minutes long.

  8. bluehikari says:

full song is up on youtube.

  9. InnerRise says:

Heard the whole song and “Goodbye Happiness” sounds like a typical Utada song, which is great by all other standards, but all of her songs are great so I was hoping for something alien and weird like she said 2 years ago, but this is still a good song, just maybe too expected, too comfortable and too safe for her.

I’m sure if she does have a weird song in there, she wouldn’t choose it to be released though, so I understand why this song is the one she chose so there’s still a chance.

This song is amazing, def reminds me of BLUE or maybe Take 5. It has a bittersweet tone, it sounds happy and up-beat but the lyrics are rather sad, similar to Niji-iro Basu or Beautiful World. I can’t get enough of this song though, it’s pure magic to say the least.

  11. Skywalker1 says:

Just listened to the full version, and as I expected, I love it. I don’t want to listen too much though, but it’s so hard not to! Maybe just one more time! Can’t wait for the album to come out!

  12. Avtara54 says:

@ diegwa: I totally agree with you. It has that mystical element she used in Ultra Blue and Heart Station, but with a more modern feel to it. I’m absolutely loving it. In fact, I found myself unconsciously humming it at work today. haha

@ Skywalker1: I know exactly how you feel. I’ve listened to the full version like four times already, and I wanna keep listening to it because I love it so much. But I think I should stop and wait until I get my copy of the album. It will be more special that way I think, plus better quality. And then I can blast those songs on my stereo, iPod, and in my car 24/7! lol
