New Japanese Utada Single, “Show Me Love”?

Long time Utada collaborator Goetz B. has updated his site discography with an entry for a new Utada single titled “Show Me Love.” The sound mixer has worked exclusively on Utada’s Japanese works, so it seems likely that “Show Me Love” will continue that pattern and be released as a Japanese language single under EMI Japan sometime in the near future. Credits to Raito.

^you don’t need an official announcement to know this is a new japanese single… the evidence is there

Like I said I’ll believe it when I hear it.

Can’t wait! Utada has a pretty hectic schedule, doesn’t she? Also, I know its not, but wouldn’t it be great if this were an English single? I mean, imagine a song like BLUE or Keep Tryin’ in English!

Not too crazy about the title but hey let’s see how it turns out to be.

shiawase added these pithy words on Nov 07 09 at 11:45 am

We’re pretty positive about this being a new Japanese single since A. she’s been talking about it and a coupling track in nearly every interview she’s done in 2009 and B. she would never re-release her English material w/ extra tracks just over a year or so from its original format, or her Japanese works 4 that matter (ala Lady GaGa’s Fame Monster and Rihanna’s Good Girl Gone Bad: Reloaded)! I personally couldn’t care if she started calling her singles titles as redundant and explicit “My Everyday S**t” as long as they sound as incredible as they have up until now. And since its the same sound mixer for BLUE and Keep Tryin’, I’m imagining a sound similar to those or “Making Love’s” experimental/electronic/synthpop. It personally sounds more like the coupling song is getting the royal press treatment first (i.e. as in Stay Gold was to the latter HEART STATION), but we’re just gonna’ have to wait & c, I guess…

AND I JIZZ….IN….MY PANTS!

Not impressed by the title, and hoping it’s not a ballad, but I’ll take it!!!!!

:D

YES. Finally! But I won’t get very excited because we still don’t have an official announcement

UtadaFanNumber1 added these pithy words on Nov 07 09 at 6:12 pm

Go Hikki! Y’all should go and check Hikki’s blog. She was doodling “German Magic” and she signed an autograph for Goetz. So I’m pretty sure she’s got something up on her sleeves. I’m excited for her new single.

praise the Lord. can’t wait to hear this…sure sounds good already :D

itaikoon added these pithy words on Nov 07 09 at 6:35 pm

even though the title “Show me love” is very bland…

itaikoon added these pithy words on Nov 07 09 at 6:40 pm

A lot of her Japanese song titles sound bland & generic. This Is Love, First Love, For You, Automatic, Celebrate, Eternally, etc…

Sugar Cat added these pithy words on Nov 07 09 at 10:07 pm

God.. When I read this I almost got a heart attack ~_~
I love the title

FINALLY. a new hikki material!!! i’ll take it anytime. :D

hisui added these pithy words on Nov 08 09 at 11:14 am

And they all laughed when I asked if we should expect new material before the 2010 tour…
“Show Me Love” isn’t a great title, but I mean come on, she isn’t known for having brilliant song titles.

By the way, I forgot to mention that I’m FREAKIN’ EXCITED!!! :P

I wanted so much an english single! T_T but, i think, this one may be a christmas single, like boa’s mamoritai.

Bernardo added these pithy words on Nov 08 09 at 1:27 pm

^And when has Hikki ever done a Christmas single? 0____o

xHeartStation added these pithy words on Nov 08 09 at 2:45 pm

^I totally disagree about her song titles, I think Utada’s are totally brilliant. Beautiful World, HEART STATION, Stay Gold, Flavor of Life, Traveling, Can You Keep A Secret?, & Sakura Drops? Those are all songs you want to listen to and over again simply by what their entitled, if you more liberal in your musical tastes anyway. I mean, at least she makes them relevant to the son’s sound and meaning, and makes you hella excited about EVERYTHING she produces regardless of relative idiosyncracies; If you wanna’ talk about acclaimed artists whom have more than ambiguous, less-than-brilliant, or over-indulged song titles, try Bod Dylan and the White Stripes!…

kinghikari009 added these pithy words on Nov 08 09 at 3:38 pm

*YOUR more liberal…
*song’s sound (srry)!

kinghikari009 added these pithy words on Nov 08 09 at 3:39 pm

While we’re at it, it’s actually “you’re.” You probably don’t want to open those flood gates.
I counter your song titles with my own: This is Love, First Love, Keep Tryin’, Addicted to You (I think every singer in the world has a song called Addicted to You), For You, Time Will Tell, Letters, Colors… I mean come on, her songs aren’t so popular because of their titles, it’s because the music is good.
I guess you could respond with “well I think those titles are all brilliant,” and you’re welcome to do so but just because you like a title doesn’t mean it’s amazing and “Show Me Love” certainly isn’t bland compared to any of those.

Alex0821 added these pithy words on Nov 08 09 at 6:05 pm

Well this will be the first Japanese Single since “This Is The One.”

I sure hope none of “This Is The One” rubs off like “Exodus” rubbed off on “ULTRA BLUE.”

She needs to utilize her Blog. I want some information. I’m guessing we’ll get this Single at the beginning of next year.

InnerRise added these pithy words on Nov 08 09 at 7:37 pm

I looked up @ wikipedia and several different music/song listing sites, and Utada was pretty much the only hit I got regarding anything called “Addicted to You” as a song title…and as far as amazing, Iit obviously not me that just thinks that, are we comparing Utada to Western counterparts or artists that r peers in the J-Pop sphere, like Ayu, Koda Kumi, Boa, or Namie? I think her title songs are even more legitimate in comparison to the latter, because like I said, her song titles match true to their message and sound, the latter two of which also contributes to her indescribable popularity. I’m not saying she’s the greatest ever or even one of the all-time greats in this department quite yet, but she definitely has identity and distinction; There’s no comparing to anyone that’s at least come before her, as far as the music is concerned anyway…

kinghikari009 added these pithy words on Nov 08 09 at 9:15 pm

Err… Ultra Blue was an amazing record… how did Exodus rub off on it in a bad way?

darkesaint added these pithy words on Nov 09 09 at 12:09 am

“Exodus” didn’t rub off on “ULTRA BLUE” in a bad way. I was using it as an example of her English works influencing her musical direction in Japanese.

InnerRise added these pithy words on Nov 09 09 at 1:02 am

This Is The One was an amazing record too.

Btw, her first singles after releasing an album always giving a clue how the next album will be sound. Just like boku wa kuma of Heart station’s heartwarming, COLORS of ULTRA BLUE’s grandiosce electro, Final Distance as a gate to her more pop of Deep river, or Addicted to you that a sign of Distance’s RnB.

Tatu’s song “show me love” popped into my head when i read this, and now i cant get it out…

AUS-4-UTADA added these pithy words on Nov 09 09 at 6:48 am

^ This. It also happened to me, And I hope! That it’s as awesome as tATu’s song.

UtadaFanNumber1 added these pithy words on Nov 09 09 at 5:04 pm

I don’t know about you all. But simply knowing that Hikki has a new song, I’m so much excited about it! Like I’m already hearing her voice singing “…show me love…”.. AARRGG!! I can’t wait! But i just had a thought that maybe its a working title. hmmmm.. I maybe wrong. since its listed in that EMI website that u all talk about.
Did anyone of you thought of yourselves, though? I mean.. show me love.. I just thought of all the people who always have something negative to say about Hikki.. haha! Cmon! this time, show her love people! (plus her “You can smile” blog.)

renjeanteractive added these pithy words on Nov 10 09 at 9:03 pm

some consolation for her tour not coming to Austrlia.

a new single is great news!

and in regards to the tittle, don’t judge a book by it’s cover.

IHEARTHIKKI added these pithy words on Nov 14 09 at 10:11 pm

I hope this single releases soon because I really want to hear it and Utada hasn’t really been coming out with anything new besides TITO which is way played out by now.
