  2. Fannboyie says:

“GOTTA TO DO IT GHETTO STYLE!!!” xD lmao and then hikki said YEAH! LMAO she is just too funny and beautiful <3 the guy jsut freak her out tho xD

  3. blackclown says:

    same answers over and over.

  4. ruka27 says:

    “BiG Tyme!” lol.

  5. Ghostdog says:

I’m burnt out on all these radio interviews and whatnot.
Let’s get some live performances going now.
IDJ should get her on at the very least a small club tour or something this Summer.

Word of mouth promotion is good too.

  6. Bluevilla says:

    Utada keeps it real

  7. sakurablooms13 says:

Seriously, who cares if they are the same answers, not many people follow her stuff like we do *Stalkers* lol…So it is nice for people to learn about her,I mean this is just here in the U.S,if she was promoting even outside the U.S we’d here the same answer all over again,so its just something fans need to get use to.

  8. sakurablooms13 says:

    ^*Hear..

  9. ShinjiPG says:

This reminds me of Ryan Seacrest.

  10. vmoriyama says:

Yeah whatever happened to the Ryan Seacrest’s show??? Did Hikki perform or did she not??? Or did she do a bad job?? Is that why Ryan hasn’t put it up on his site? Anyone know??

  11. kami-sama says:

Bet she was scared of the big guy.

  12. kami-sama says:

^ Same answers for same questions, I don’t understand your point.

Like, today, in her youth, she listened to Metallica, and the next day, she would say that she listened to Scorpions?

  13. orchid says:

    …Uh. People, don’t overreact when you hear the same answers for the same questions. That’s how it rolls with promo – they’re trying to draw interest from non-fans. We’re not the target audience. If you’ve ever stalked an artist by going around listening to their promo interviews, you’ll know that you’re bound to hear the exact same things over and over again -_-;

  14. FiresEmblem says:

It’s funny how he says Utada in the beginning. It has such an ‘Italian Mafia’ feel.

‘So you’ve come today on the day of my daughter’s wedding…’
    Lol!

  15. Why didn’t they post this sooner, and why does every one of her American interviews ask the same redundant and generic questions??? Good god, I swear if I didn’t know who she already was and had done, I’d be as interested in finding out more about anything ‘Utada’ as watching paint dry on the wall! I don’t want to be a pessimist, but I really hope Island Def Jam does her a justice and @ least stock a good 200-500K in stores come May 12th or otherwise this so-far triumphant effort’s going to drown out like Boa’s did earlier this year…

  16. Amaterasu says:

Because unlike us, most people in the US have no idea who Utada Hikaru is, and don’t go out of their way to listen to each interview and read every article published about her. So yes, interviews would be redundant.

  17. Bluevilla says:

kinghikari009, Come Back To Me hasn’t caught up to the point they can ship that many copies to stores. :-\

  18. orion2013 says:

There is no way the album can be a success now.. that is too bad. Maybe a third album will do it.

  19. Ghostdog says:

^ BS, the album is very good and has many potential hits on it.
It’s not ALL about promotion ya know, if the music is good and people like it the album will promote itself.
For goodness sakes CBTM is still steadily climbing on the charts and getting decent airplay can we at least refrain from making a judgment on the success of the album till after at least it gets released?
What if the album receives rave reviews from the critics? what if she gets invited to perform on the Conan O’Brien or Ellen show? Give it a chance people, the Summer has even started yet.

  20. I know if Natasha Bedingfield, Amy Windehouse, Adelle, and Joss Stone can blow it up big like they did recently, there’s no reason TITO cannot! If the music promotes itself, that’s all that counts…it’ll do fine enough if they make it available mainstream physically in most places unlike Boa’s album, which I’ve yet to see ANYWHERE much less an advertisement; Its just more than likely it’ll be a sleeper hit and not a sprint-out-of-the-gate success, that being only because she’s technically playing the ‘new artist’ role to a very different industry…

  21. FiresEmblem says:

I don’t know what happened to BoA and her album. She sort of just disappeared under the Radar.

  22. This interview waasn’t bad, but I’m just still unsure if the moves her management and label have done so far have truly been their absolute best efforts. I still have a stronger inclination to believe I’m wrong, but its truly going to be up to the ordinary public and their purchasing power to make Hikki go from underground to all-time international superstar, because their simply not going to have the convinced faith in her ability as they do already established artists, no matter how gifted she is! Its unfair really, but I’m still hoping for the odd-miracle(s) to occur: everyone that I know that has heard the song and album have spurned a new-found love for her, and the future isn’t concrete until its present and past, so we, as always, are gonna have to ‘Wait&C”…

  23. InnerRise says:

I have no complaints with Island Def Jam this time around. They’ve done well. The music does have to carry it’s own weight. Everything doesn’t fall back on Island Def Jam. Just because some here like the music, doesn’t mean the general public will.

  24. FinalThrottle says:

I wonder what Utada is doing right now, we haven’t heard from her in a long time. Right now, BoA is promoting her 2nd single on radio stations and is set to perform on MTVJ in May. I’m hoping that Utada will also perform on there.

  25. Xcapist says:

we have to help promote the album as well.

  26. gantzman246 says:

Utada is trying to reach a wider audience here in the states so it would be pretty useless imo if she performed on MTVJ, how many Americans will see it? I’m hoping she performs on latenight shows like The Tonight Show or daytime like Ellen. I was wondering if VH1 would feature her on the You Outta Know thing.

  27. zatapathique says:

(Sorry for my weird engRish. I’m not good at translating.)

Title: Finally I got to see her!!

Since I started this job, for 15 years, I haven’t seen such a powerful person. I didn’t mean physically. I meant it was like inner force… Anyways, frankly speaking, she made me nervous. The day when I got to see world-famous Utada finally came!

As preparation for this interview, I kinda researched or reviewed her works; not only her new album but also her past works, and I have realized that the word “genius” is just the perfect word to describe her. I also read her just-released autobiography, and her admissions were so shocking that I felt like “I wish I didn’t read this…” I mean, the content of the autobiography is interesting indeed, and it is going to happen that I read it sooner or later, but at that moment, I felt like “I knew too much.”

Anyway, sound like a contradiction, she looked charming indeed. Again and again in the interview, I got the illusion that I got sucked into her big round eyes. I have two backgrounds as she does, the United States and Japan, so that I had a lot of sympathy for her. I wanted to show you her multicolored manicure, but I forgot to take the photo in the excitement… This time, please take a look at this spoony two-shot instead.

  28. Ghostdog says:

    Thank you so much.

  29. ^Oh wow, thats a destiny encounter if I ever heard one…i don’t think there’d be words good enough to describe my 1st time in meeting her; If this blog was ‘recent,’ does that mean she’s in Japan or back in the U.S. for the next big move? News has been so frickin’ slow this last week (ughhh)…

  30. FiresEmblem says:

    Yea, it was KingHikari009. D:

I love that blog… It makes me want to read the autobiography! Thank you zatapathique. =)

  31. theara says:

It seems like I’m not the only one who thinks “genius” is the only word to describe hikki.

I hope the u.s. audience gives hikki a chance. Any interest is enough for them to see what we all see in hikki.

  32. ruka27 says:

WoW. that was nice… thanks zatapathique & ghostdog!
can’t wait for her to come back here in the US. i miss her sooo much… T^T
HiKKi, come back to me ASAP!!! or @ least post a blog or something…

  33. hikkilove says:

Anyway, this might sound contradicted, but she was a very charming person. Whilst I listened to her stories, I thought her big eyes could even swallow me. (‘sorry I just do not know how to translate this part). And also, there were many things we could share and it was probably because we had the same background where we grew up in both the states and Japan. I really wanted to upload a pic with very colorful nails, but I got too excited,so i uploaded another one

  34. hikkilove says:

Of course, I did lots of studies and reviews about Utada to welcome her to this event and listened to her new album and even her old ones, and I can not think of any words to describe her but genius!!! I also read her new books about her personal like and could not help but think that “ I should not have read it” because of her surprise confessions. I mean, of course the content is very interesting and, sooner or later I would have read it, but before meeting her in person, I had this feeling that I had known of her more than I should have.

  35. Ghostdog says:

^ I wonder what he meant by her “surprise confessions”.

  36. Keyblademaster354 says:

lack of news lately… do you guys think Hikki’s done with the TITO-promotions??

  37. Alex0821 says:

The YMMWTBAM MV was taken off iTunes, does anyone know why?
And even though news is slow, CBTM is still getting good radio play, so let’s not stop requesting!

  38. zatapathique says:

In the interview (NHK-FM “Music Line”), she said that she would go back again to the US to promote the album.
(the following is same comment as I posted yeasterday, which is still awaiting moderation.)
At the end of the interview, she said that she would to take a long vacation after US promotion and a ongoing Japanese work, and then she added, “Or die trying!!”

  39. zatapathique says:

CBTM – Karaoke Singing Competition in JPN & US
The winner(s) will be awarded a invitation to karaoke party with Utada in Tokyo.
    http://karaoke.jp.myspace.com/music/utada

  40. zatapathique says:

Utada will picked up one from Japan and another from US as the first-prize winner.
The winner will be able to bring up to 3 people to the party.
I guess the english page is coming soon.
