    1. Heartstations first week of sales was so high (400,000) because they actually promoted heart station (ALOT!) and there was several singles off of heartstation already out so quite a few people in japan knew and were anticipating the release of Heart Station.

    2. TITO is an album mainly for america, she released it in japan first just because her company wanted her to. I really doubt Utada is looking for it to sell well in japan or even promote it in Japan, I think her main goal is to make a really good pop album for the states, if people in Japan like it then that’s cool too.

3.77,000 is still more than exodus sold in the U.S. (55K?)

    :D

Nowadays the #1 spot on Oricon Weekly Album Chart rarely reach 100k sales. People are moving to digital sooner or later.

  4. ^Ok, I’m sorry about the comments I made on the other two albums, but I’ve heard alot of their music on Youtube and fansites, and really, they’re just not as good as Utada’s is, is easier on the ears…But like I said, Boa’s CD is terrible, especially in comparison to her previous works, that vocoder is doing her a serious injustice, its a shame. I don’t expect it to debut that high on the Billboard 200 Albums Chart if @ all. Its going to take quite a few thousand ‘otaku’ fans of hers to make that thing fly (Lady GaGa in my opinion, is a much better singer and performer than Boa, as well); The same goes for Utada in a sense, but @ least she’s actually singing and writing quality stuff, and has a single and video that’s making noticeable impressions. We can only let time and the public really decide, but I think Utada’s got the right label and timing this round of Asian artists (Boa,Se7en,Rain,etc.) breaking stateside in 2009!…

  5. I’ll buy some of Boa’s record digitally (there’s a few highlights that don’t sound like bad, unused Britney Spear’s ‘Blackout’ demos, but that’s the best I can really do for her…I just can’t take how this album turned out, it really is a shame; Still hope she has some noteworthy success, but I’m stll putting all my faith and hope in the real deal (that’s Hikki)! I think we’re going to have a few promotional suprises in April and May that’ll reassure us about the promise and dedication that’s really behind TITO from her and IDJ…

Everyone start voting for CBTM on VH1

  9. Oh thanks for that heads up on the Vh1 countdown, gantzman246! Everyone watches that now since TRL is gone now; That’d be fantastic for her to make the “You Oughta Know” artist channel segment and appear in an interview there!…I wish MTV and BET would start airing the CBTM vid during primetime and day hours when they have peak viewership…

@kinghikari009: Obviously, “quality stuff” is subjective.

  11. geeee says:

That’s good result. It’s important success in US than in Japan.
Hikki has a chance of success than other asian singer (Boa,Rain etc..) because she has a natural talent for music to them is not
