That’s great and all – but are and AMERICAN magazines going to do stories on her at all???
I don’t get why it’s her American/ENGLISH project, yet she is still getting more promo for it in Japan…

^Maybe I should’ve put this under the Kiwibox post… it was done on the same day. I wish there was an edit function. D:
So many!!! Can’t wait..yeah what about for the US???
it also says there will be an interview with utada on billboard magazine that comes out on the 28th. is that new information?
^ It would be huge news if it was the US Billboard magazine.
IDJ’s website is still not updated… ~sigh~ -_-
Wow, she’s gonna be busy!
There are two things we have to consider about music promotions:
-
(a) Interviews, public appearances, and performances are most of the time negotiated by the artist’s management (though of course the label helps out by providing media contacts, etc.). The promotions that the label is mostly involved with are more of the buying ads/negotiating with radio and retailers variety.
-
(b) Neither IDJ or Utada’s management can just waltz up to Rolling Stone or Good Morning America and say “Do a cover story on this artist.” The producers in charge of the media have to agree to it. When you’re virtually unknown and don’t yet have any real hits in a country, of course it’s going to be next to impossible to land the big gigs when Angelina Jolie or whoever is there wanting to plug her project.
-
So it’s easy to say “IDJ just sucks at promoting,” but that ignores both the responsibility of her management and just the fact that there’s little to negotiate on to get her into the high-volume media outlets. She’s going to have to take off at radio (or somehow garner big iTunes sales) before she starts getting major facetime.
Hey. We already got a lot of english interview before. Gossipgirls, sinternet, kiwibox, and more.
At the top, in pink text, does it say that an interview with Utada will be published in the American Billboard magazine?
You guys should do a contest like download Utada’s new single on iTunes, screen capture the purchase, and send it in to win signed Hikki stuff and all. That would be cool.
can’t wait to see the scans!!! =D
I bought What’s IN? and CD Data and they does have only a small pixture of the cover. Zipper even put utada in a black & white page.
